Associates
I have chosen each member of the practice to enhance the psychiatric treatment I provide resulting in the highest quality care for my clients. Together, my associates and I are committed to helping you feel better and stay healthy.
Kathleen Jensen NPP-BC
I’m so pleased to welcome Kathleen Jensen, NP, to the practice. Her warmth, expertise, and dedication make her an invaluable addition, to enhance your treatment and ensure seamless support. Kathleen brings not only her skill as an expert prescriber but also her genuine care and availability for urgent needs, so you’ll always feel fully supported. As the practice has grown, bringing her on was essential to make sure all your needs are met with the same personal attention you’ve come to expect.
Kathleen is a compassionate and highly skilled Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping adults achieve peace and clarity in their lives through expert medication management and psychotherapy. She focuses on quieting the mental “static” caused by anxiety, depression, and self-doubt, empowering patients to break free from cycles of insecurity and fear. Kathleen believes that the stories people tell themselves are often flawed and can perpetuate feelings of being stuck, but with the right care, this narrative can change. By addressing these challenges with a thoughtful and individualized approach, Kathleen helps patients rediscover their resilience, realize their capabilities, and find healing, joy, and peace in their everyday lives.
Kathleen Jensen earned her Master’s degree as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from Stony Brook University in 2001 and completed CBT training at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia. With over 25 years of experience in cardiac care, hospice, and psychiatry—specializing in anxiety disorders—she provides a comprehensive approach that blends medical and psychotherapeutic strategies. Happily married for over 25 years and a mother of four, Kathleen draws on her personal experiences to deepen her empathy and insight, empowering patients to overcome emotional challenges and achieve lasting peace, health, and stability.
Sandra Lafazan LCSW- Individual and Couples Psychotherapist
Sandy Lafazan LCSW is the heart of the practice when it comes to psychotherapy. Sandy is calm and steady in all situations, bringing warmth and positivity that immediately puts clients at ease. She creates a safe, supportive environment for exploring past traumas, allowing individuals to uncover and heal the root causes of their struggles. Compassionate and dedicated, Sandy blends CBT, Talk Therapy, and holistic approaches like mindfulness to promote overall well-being.
For patients receiving medication management from Kyra Sposato, NP, or Kathleen Jenkins, NP, Sandy offers 60-minute therapy sessions for those who need more time beyond the 30-minute sessions included in the medication management appointments.
In addition to her work with individuals, Sandy specializes in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, empowering couples to deepen emotional intimacy, manage conflict, and reconnect with shared values and goals. Sandy uses her professional expertise, along with personal insights from a 35-year marriage and raising three adult sons, to guide couples through relationship challenges. If requested, she also helps couples find the strength to dissolve their marriage amicably and provides tools for effective co-parenting.
Lisa Matarazzo – Practice Manager
I’m thrilled to introduce my new practice manager, whose warmth, dedication, and commitment to exceptional care make her the perfect addition to the practice. Although you may not see her face-to-face, you’ll feel connected to her in every interaction—whether it’s her prompt responses via your preferred communication method, her nurturing professionalism, or her contagious positivity. She truly goes above and beyond, ensuring you feel supported, understood, and valued every step of the way. Her energy and smile radiate throughout the practice, and I couldn’t be happier to have her here, continuing the highly personalized care I’m dedicated to providing for my patients.
Lisa graduated from Beal College with a degree in Medical Management and has over 20 years of experience managing healthcare practices, mainly in mental health. A career highlight was her team’s work bringing Cymbalta to market.
Outside of work, Lisa is an avid crafter, a published card maker, and enjoys teaching her skills to others. She loves spending time with her family, especially her six nieces and nephews, and her teacup Yorkie. Passionate about giving back, Lisa actively supports several charities in her community.
